About Marcus
What’s different about working with me is the focus on action. I’m not interested in people leaving sessions full of insight but still stuck in the same patterns.
I help people build the kind of relationship that makes you excited to see your partner. Where you feel certain someone has your back, and inspired to explore the future together.
My work is grounded in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), alongside years of coaching individuals navigating patterns of avoidance, conflict, anxiety, and self-sabotage.
Before I trained in this work, my understanding of relationships was shaped by my history. I grew up in a household that often felt more like a warzone than a home. Some days were loud and confrontational. Others were quiet but tense, like something could go wrong at any moment. In many ways, the quiet days were harder.
Years later, those same dynamics began showing up in my adult relationships. I spent years feeling stuck and frustrated, repeating patterns I didn’t fully understand, trying to make things work with fragments of insight from therapy, but very few practical tools.
That began to change when I started questioning what I had always assumed were “just the way relationships are.”
What I found was simple to understand, but not easy to apply:
- Insight alone doesn’t change relationships.
- Generic communication advice falls apart under pressure.
- Much of what we consider “normal” keeps people stuck in cycles of disconnection, frustration, and resentment.
This is where my work is focused. I help people:
- Understand the patterns that keep them stuck
- Recognise the losing strategies that damage connection
- Build practical, repeatable skills that hold up in hard moments

The aim is simple: to help you build a relationship that feels like a cornerstone of your life.
If you’re not there right now, that might be hard to imagine. I didn’t believe it existed myself until I experienced it. But it is possible, and I’m here to help you build it.
After experiencing the difference this work has made in my own life, I’m committed to helping others build relationships that are stable, connected, and genuinely fulfilling.
In addition to over 10 years of full-time coaching experience, I’m currently undertaking couples counselling training aligned with standards recognised by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
